Overview

Members of the REMC Association of Michigan and the Michigan's Integrated Technology Supports (MITS) regularly work hand in hand to provide support to constituents in their respective services areas.  This close working relationship served as the impetus for these two groups to partner on Blended Learning 2012

Blended Learning 2012 will have joint sessions on topics of common interest co-presented by REMC and MITS members.  There will also be separate REMC and MITS sessions.  Blended Learning will held at the Hagerty Center located at  Northwestern Michigan College's Great Lakes Campus in Traverse City. 

MITS participants attend Monday, June 18 - Wednesday, June 20 and REMC participants attend Tuesday, June 19- Thursday, June 21.

Program

Participants will learn about innovative, technology-related programs and have access to an exhibit area which highlights hardware, software, computer-related materials, and other educational technology.  MITS/REMC Blended Learning 2012 Program (draft).

REMC Participant Registration

  • Directors or non-RITS member REMC Staff - Registration includes all sessions, exhibits, lunch and banquet.  The cost is $100.  Cost for guest and/or children attending the June 20 banquet is $25 and $13 respectively.
  • RITS Members - Complimentary registration includes all sessions, exhibits and lunch.  RITS Members MUST REGISTER to confirm participation.  Cost for RITS members to attend the June 20 banquet is $25.
  • REMC Alumni - Cost for alumni, guest and/or children attending the June 20 banquet is $13 each.

Exhibitor Registration

Registration deadline is June 8, 2012.  No refunds will be made after this date.  CLICK HERE to register as an exhibitor.

Exhibits are Wednesday, June 20 at the Hagerty Center from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  Exhibitor Registration Fee is $450 and includes:

  • One 6' foot skirted table with two chairs
  • Company identification sign
  • Electricity and wireless Internet access
  • Recognition in the program and at the banquet
  • Lunch and dinner with Inservice attendees on June 20
  • One company representative (Additional representatives are $50 per person and must be registered separately.)

Shipping:  Please contact the Hagerty Center at 231.995.3100 prior to shipping.  Due to storage limitations, the Hagerty Center should receive items no more than three (3) days in advance of the event.  Packages may be labeled as follows:  Hagerty Center at NMC, 715 East Front Street, Traverse City MI 49686, Attention:  Contact Name, Event Name and Dates of Function.

Bayshore Resort (a continental breakfast is included in the room rate)

  • Bayview/Poolview (partial view of the Bay or overlook the indoor pool) - $110
  • Bayfront Queen (overlook entire beach & Bay area) - $132
  • Spa Queen (two-person in-room Jacuzzi) - $142

Reservations:  Call the Bayshore at 800.634.4401 (online reservation not available).  Reservations must be made under "REMC Association" by May 18, 2012 to get the conference rate.  Cancellations must be made 48 hours prior to arrival. The Bayshore will remove the 6% state tax if the attendee pays for the room with a check drawn on a tax exempt institution and provides the Bayshore with a tax exempt form.

Great Wolf Lodge
Family Suite - $149 per night.  Reservations:  Call the Great Wolf Lodge at 1-866-954-9653.  Reservations must be made under "REMCAM Summer Inservice #1206" by May 18, 2012 to get the conference rate. Cancellations must be made 72 hours prior to arrival.  Rates are subject to a Resort Fee of $9.99 per room, per night, and an additional per person charge beyond the base occupancy of $25 per person.
