Connect With Stoodle
Communication and collaboration are key in projects to make them a success. It is always great to get feedback from others. There are online tools that make it easy to work with others and solicit feedback.
CK12 has created a FREE product called Stoodle where users can join an online classroom by simply sharing an URL. It offers real time collaboration and communication, multiple users can work on the same virtual whiteboard at the same time through text chat and voice conferencing using their computer’s microphone. They also can type, draw, and search and upload images.

- The teacher assigns a project to the students.
- First the teacher will launch Stoodle to the students and show the capabilities of the interactive whiteboard.
- The teacher will share the classroom URL with the students and have them work with the teacher in real time until they are comfortable using Stoodle.
- The students will begin working on their projects with partners. One student will launch Stoodle and share the URL with their partner. The partner will open up the room on their own computer and begin working together. Two or more students can work together using the same URL.
- The students can work on documents together in Stoodle. They just have to use the drag and drop feature in the program and locate the saved document on their computer.
- The students can create multiple pages if needed in Stoodle.
- When the students reach the time allotted for the task, Stoodle saves the work and the students can enter the room again anytime to continue the work. The students can continue working on the project the next day or at home. There is a chat feature where the students can chat in real time. Note: You will want to talk about online safety and bullying and what is appropriate behavior when chatting and working together.
- The teacher can work with another teacher in the same school on a project or assign pen pals from another location.
- This would be a great project for buddies where a 4th grader works with either an older or younger partner on a project.

4th grade Science. Photosynthesis Cycle. After building background knowledge about the process of photosynthesis; students will work collaboratively in a small group using Stoodle to make a diagram with labels and pictures about this cycle. They will use the text chat to clarify ideas and provide feedback.
