Prodigy is an online curriculum aligned math practice website. Students complete math tasks and earn play time which is in a video game format. It is an adaptive math program.
- Know how to use the Prodigy game to complete math tasks and interact with other students.
- Be able to complete math tasks that have been assigned by the teacher.
- Understand that in order to earn play time they must complete the math tasks.
Username: The username is a name used to sign into account.
Password: A password is a secret word or phrase that must be used to gain admission to something.
Teacher should sign up for the free account on www.prodigygame.com and select “Get Your Free Account”.
Select teacher option.
If you are not using Google, provide your full name, e-mail address, and the password you would like to use for the account and click the "Create Account" button.
If you sign into (or are already signed into) a Google account on this browser with only one email associated with it, you’ll be automatically moved to the next step.
Click on "I want a new Prodigy account".
Select “Teacher” and complete the information needed.

Students will begin with a placement assessment.
All student results are placed on the teacher dashboard.
Teacher has the option to assign skills on the teacher planner.

The teacher will show the students the Prodigy video.
Students navigate to Prodigy.
Have the students select the “Play Prodigy” button in the upper right hand portion of their browser window.
Enter in the child/student’s username and password.
Select the “Login” button. The game will begin to load automatically.
Students create their own wizard.

- Prodigy provides the teacher with individual student and class data. This can allow the teacher to assign specific skills to students.

MITECS: Michigan adopted the "ISTE Standards for Students" called MITECS (Michigan Integrated Technology Competencies for Students) in 2018.
