Using Photopeach, students will create a digital slideshow that showcases their learning. Photopeach is an application where in just minutes the students can create a rich slideshow. Photopeach supports background music, captions, and comments so students can elaborate on their story further.

Learning Objectives

Students will:

  • Be able to explore and save four-five images from a website.
  • Be able to create and save digital artwork.
  • Be able to create a multimedia artifact using Photopeach.

  1. Multimedia: Multimedia is using more than one medium of expression or communication.

  • Students should have a basic understanding of finding photos online and saving them to a file of your choice as the students will be using photos to create a slideshow.
  • If students are not familiar with saving pictures, the lesson is still doable but will take you longer.
  • The teacher can also save photos for students to access in a shared folder.
  • View this video on using Photopeach.
  • Set up a free photopeach account.
  • Photopeach requires each user to have an email account. Depending on your class, you will need to either create logins for each student or if your students have email accounts, you could walk them through creating their own account.
  • Create your own Photopeach so you are able to walk students through the lesson.

  1. Depending on time, this could be shown during one class session or can be broken into 2 class sessions.
  2. The teacher will begin by saying, “Today we are going to learn about new ways to share what we have learned. Sometimes we share with posters, or we will we learn how to make a slideshow to share out learning.”

Part One:

  1. Demonstrate Pics4Learning and/or Photosforclass
  2. Show students how to find a picture and save it correctly to a file.
  3. Allow time for exploring. Have them locate three pictures and save them.
  4. Here you can insert a lesson, (Save three pics on your famous person, Save three pictures of the geometric shape you chose.)

Part Two: This one will take 20-30 min depending on what your expectations are.

  1. Demonstrate PhotoPeach. Create a show as you go.
  2. Demonstrate how to:
    1. Log in.
    2. Upload photos.
    3. Add title and music.
    4. Edit captions to add information to their slides.
    5. How to share it. (Photo Peach is free, but contains a cost to download shows, so it is easy to copy the link and create a QR code to share at home.)
    6. Allow the students time to create.
