Keep these up your sleeve like a magician and bring them out when you want to show off to others. You can help by sharing these tips with friends and family once you learn them. Scroll below for shortcuts and tips for the Mac, PC, Windows 10, and Chromebook.

Key Vocabulary

Individuals: Individuals are each distinctive person in your class

Shortcuts: Shortcuts are keystrokes that command your computer and are a quicker way to move through tasks. Here are four common ones to drag and match. 

Split Screen: Being able to see more than one window or application on your screen at the same time.

  • Hover your pointer over the full-screen button in the upper-left corner of a window. Or click and hold the button.
  • Choose ”Tile Window to Left of Screen” or ”Tile Window to Right of Screen” from the menu. ...
  • Click a window on the other side of the screen to begin using both windows side by side.

Windows 10 Shortcuts

1. Step 1: Drag and drop your first window into the corner you want to snap it to. Alternatively, press the Windows key and left or right arrow, followed by the up or down arrow. Step 2: Do the same with a second window on the same side and you will have two snapped into place.

2. Review this list of Windows 10 shortcuts and try five of them.

3. Complete the Quest using the directions at the bottom.

Teach at least three shortcuts to two other individuals (a relative, classmate, friend, etc.).

Write up a short tip report. (Rubric for the tip report)

  • Include the names of the individuals you taught them to and which shortcuts you taught them,
  • Explain any observations you made of your teaching session. Was this a new shortcut for them? Did they like learning it? Did you enjoy teaching it?
