QG6. Headers & Footers
Headers and footers are critical for documents you create. Just imagine you are reading a manual and it says to turn to page 28, but there are no page numbers in the footer! What if you are getting information for a current news report, and you suddenly notice a date in the header that says 1994?
A footer or header helps provide additional information on the pages of a document and can save a lot of time. The header and footer will appear on every page of the document.
To complete this assignment, add a header and footer to your existing poem document.

Header: Headers are areas in a document at the top, where you can add the date, time, page numbers, and more, that can then automatically appear on each page in a document. (e.g., your name, teacher name, date)
Footer: Footers are areas at the bottom of a page, where you can add text, copyright information, and page numbers that can then automatically appear on each page in a document.
I Can Statement
add headers and footers to my documents
1. Open your Google Drive Folder for 4.Collaboration and open your Robert Frost poem.
2. Click on INSERT on the menu bar
a. Select HEADER and align right
b. On the first line type Collaboration
c. On the second line type Google Docs word processing
d. On the third line type your name.
e. Click out of the Header back on the body of the document
3. Click on INSERT on the menu bar.
a. Select Footer
b. Align center
c. Add today's date and press ENTER
4. Click on INSERT on the menu bar again
a. Select PAGE NUMBER
b. Add the page number at the bottom of the document
c. Align this to the Center
d. Notice how it will automatically number the pages in the footer
5. Change the name of the document by clicking on the title. Change it and add 21t4s or other identifying information (e.g., 4.Collaboration Q6 xx and include your initials).
