Kids Know It

Empowered Learner


The Kids Know It Network provides students with fun interactive learning modules in different content areas. There are fun and educational games, activities, worksheets and free online classes for young children. 

Every website developed is painstakingly researched for accuracy and appropriateness. This process begins with the planning and development of materials, activities, and articles by parents and educators, and ends with the final editing and approval of experts in the field being explored.

Everything is free too!

Learning Objectives

Students will:

  • Be able to log onto Kids Know It and find the content that they want to work on.
  • Be able to go through the modules and have a better understanding of the content through the use of videos, articles, diagrams, etc.


Vocabulary Words:

  1. Geology: Geology is the study of the science that deals with the earth's physical structure. 

  2. Geography: Geography is the study of the physical features of the earth and its atmosphere, and of human activity as it affects and is affected by these, including the distribution of populations and resources, land use, and industries.

  3. History: History is the study of past events, particularly in human affairs.

  4. Astronomy: Astronomy is the branch of science that deals with celestial objects, space, and the physical universe as a whole.

  5. Biology: Biology is the study of living organisms,


To prepare for this lesson:

  • The Teacher creates free accounts at Kids Know It with/for students.

  • The teacher introduces the students to Kids Know It as a whole class and takes them through an online tour showing them how to locate topics and use the modules.

Directions for this activity:

  1. The students log onto Kids Know It.

  2. The students locate the desired topic. The teacher can assign specific topics for students.

  3. The students navigate the Kids Know It learning module

Assessment Options

Different options for assessing the students:

  • Observations
  • Check for understanding
  • The teacher can do a question and answer discussion session with students.
  • Students write a summary of the topic.
  • Students draw a diagram of a topic.
  • This site is good for exit tickets.
  • Teachers can create a Kahoot on an assigned topic.


MITECS: Michigan adopted the "ISTE Standards for Students" called MITECS (Michigan Integrated Technology Competencies for Students) in 2018.

Kids Know it



  • Students can write a paragraph on the topic with an illustration to go with it.

Integrated Arts

  • Students create posters individually or in small groups.


  • After previewing a math module, students create an example of math topic and explain it.


  • Students create a diagram/poster on scientific topics.

Social Studies

  • Students create maps using Kids KNow It and create a key to go with it.
