You're invited to attend #BBAF2022 Conference in Lansing

REMC is pleased to share an upcoming event from our partner organizations. Building a Better Assessment Future Conference will be held August 3-4 at MSU’s Kellogg Center.

Sponsored by the Michigan Assessment Consortium (MAC) in partnership with the Michigan Department of Education and FAME (Formative Assessment for Michigan Educators), this conference will support you and your district team in reimagining assessment to positively impact the achievement of ALL students.

As the COVID-19 pandemic eases its grip on us, we recognize its negative impact on our students.  Teaching and learning support systems must now move forward in robust and dynamic ways.  Educators and policymakers recognize the need to accurately identify what students know and can do in ways that will close the gap on inequity in current assessment practice.

Conference participants will grow their knowledge and gain confidence in their assessment skills by engaging with respected experts and practitioners such as Andrew Ho, Margaret Heritage, Jay McTighe, Ed Roeber, and Ellen Vorenkamp.  Educators and policymakers at all levels are invited to attend, but we encourage schools/districts to register and work in teams of three or more.  Those who attend #BBAF2022 solo will benefit from a dynamic experience too because we have built in dedicated time to collaborate with and learn from each other.

We can’t ignore the huge challenge we face as teachers and administrators.  But TOGETHER – through connecting with the expertise, resources, and growth opportunities provided by the MAC and #BBAF2022 – we will get a firmer grip on how to better use balanced assessment to improve instruction and enrich learning for all.
