Directions:
Check with your teacher about working on this activity, and if you will work with a partner, a small group, or a whole class. You may also consider role-playing some scenarios as you complete the activity.

NOTE: To legally use Snapchat you must be at least 13 years old.
STEPS:
1. Your journey begins by playing the short (1:26) "What is Snapchat? video embedded below.
2. You will be responding to questions in the Social Media Considerations document individually.
3. You will play another short (2:11) video from an ABC News interview with a teacher who did an experiment with social media with her class. Provide answers to the questions in the Social Media Considerations document.
4. You will consider some concerns shared by an Assistant Principal in this very short (49-second) video titled: How Does Social Media Impact Students? Use the link provided to play it. Jot down your ideas about the message and your concerns about social media in the Social Media Considerations Document.
5. Discussion and Sharing: Ask your teacher about the process for discussing social media and the issues raised in the three videos (class discussion or in small groups).
- Feel free to make notes in your document after the discussion about questions and/or thoughts raised during the discussion.
- Make a list of three or more strategies for responsible use of social media to include in your document.
